Errands, a New Outdoor Table, and a Candlelight Dinner

8/19

In the morning, I helped out with the weekly harvest again. It went well, and this time I was harvesting green onions. After that, I came home with our share of the produce, including some bananas. I picked some yellow bananas, hoping they were ripe, but when I bit into one, it was very starchy, so I guess it is not ready yet. I’ll leave them on our banana holder to ripen.

I then took a shower and got ready to do some errands in town. We first went into San Jose to get our outdoor table! We just had to go to the pickup place (AR holdings) to get it. Now that we have it, we can have meals outside, and can invite people for dinner.

Then we stopped by Pricesmart since it was on the way home for a few things.
Then we went to town to pay our electric bill. Unfortunately, we can’t pay online yet, because we need to set up an account, which is more of a hassle than it needs to be. However, we also got a Costa Rica phone number today, so that is something that will hopefully allow us to do that in the future.

We also got an instant pot (off brand) at the Maxipali today, which is great. Now we can use it to cook our rice and beans, which we eat a lot. The stovetop method was not working very well, and beans especially took forever. This will let us cook it with much less hassle now.

After we got home, we made some dinner and relaxed.

8/20

Today was a day spent at home, but it was pretty productive for me. I applied for a job and did some updating of my website, and a bit more work on my music. The album is really coming along, and I am really liking the music I’ve made, so I’m looking forward to releasing it!

Sophie also put the table together and we had our dinner on that this evening by (citronella) candlelight. It was lovely! We also got to use the instant pot to make our rice and beans, and they turned out well!
