Accidents and a party

Sophie went to a tree planting today, but she got injured. She was asked to dig with a machete, which I was very surprised and concerned to hear as the soil is very rocky. That was an accident waiting to happen. Luckily, there was a person with a first aid kit there, and it was not too bad, but still scary.

I later talked with the person who asked her to dig with the machete, and gently reminded her to prioritize safety, and luckily she was receptive, so ultimately, this was a good learning experience and we can hopefully avoid this in the future.

After that, we went to a combined birthday party/delayed engagement party for some people in the community. There were a lot of people there, so it was good to meet everyone and celebrate the people! We played some music together and had a potluck.

No pictures today unfortunately, I forgot to take them!

  1. Oh, my goodness!!! It drives me crazy when people don't think about safety. It's not like there's there's an Urgent Care just down the street. Digging=applied force Machete= sharp cutting tool Planting tree= germy dirt. No bueno. Ugh.

The party with music and food sounds fun, though!
