Accidents and a party
Sophie went to a tree planting today, but she got injured. She was asked to dig with a machete, which I was very surprised and concerned to hear as the soil is very rocky. That was an accident waiting to happen. Luckily, there was a person with a first aid kit there, and it was not too bad, but still scary.
I later talked with the person who asked her to dig with the machete, and gently reminded her to prioritize safety, and luckily she was receptive, so ultimately, this was a good learning experience and we can hopefully avoid this in the future.
After that, we went to a combined birthday party/delayed engagement party for some people in the community. There were a lot of people there, so it was good to meet everyone and celebrate the people! We played some music together and had a potluck.
No pictures today unfortunately, I forgot to take them!
Oh, my goodness!!! It drives me crazy when people don't think about safety. It's not like there's there's an Urgent Care just down the street. Digging=applied force Machete= sharp cutting tool Planting tree= germy dirt. No bueno. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteThe party with music and food sounds fun, though!
