Performing with a Friend at the Market

Today I performed with a friend at a local market. She was doing a poetry reading, and I accompanied her with my hang (hand pan) and a djembe. IT was a neat thing to be able to do! That was the first time I had been able to perform with the hang, so I was pretty glad I brought it. I also was able to use my nice microphones to mic up the hang. Though I did not have a mic stand, so I got creative with using a phone holder and a camera stand, and it worked!

After the performance was complete, I walked around with Sophie to look at the booths, and I got some pizza for lunch. There was also a folk dancing performance, which was really cool to watch!

  1. That is so awesome. I suspect the poet was more than pleased to have the accompaniment. You have a way of playing that adds depth to a performance without drawing attention to the enhancement.
